No Tricks, Only Treats! A $0.99 Monster Fest Sale

Have I mentioned yet that I LOVE Halloween? It’s my favorite holiday (aside from my birthday- lol). As I’m gearing up for my virtual haunted house tour, I decided that I wanted to sweeten the deal just a bit for those who are going to travel along with me.

So here’s what I’m doing. Three of my books will be $0.99 from October 20th-October 31st: Heiress of Lies (Bloodtruth #1), Ageless and The Soul Garden (Twisted Souls #1). You get to choose your monster: vampires (Heiress of Lies or Ageless- each with its own unique twist) or zombies (The Soul Garden).

I hope you are as excited to kick off the virtual haunted house tour as I am. Chills and thrills guaranteed. 🙂  Check back tomorrow for the official tour schedule!

Happy Haunting.

The Wait Is Over: The Queen’s Betrayal Now Available!!

If you’ve been following along on my August blogging challenge, you may have noticed something that happened right around August 17th. I disappeared. Normally I’d say something now like “I’m really sorry I completely mucked up my own challenge”.  But I’m not going to do that.

The reason I disappeared was totally worth it.

I was in the throes of writing the last third of The Queen’s Betrayal, and honestly I needed to stop with the distractions and put my nose to grindstone and get it done.

The Queen’s Betrayal is the sequel to Heiress of Lies, and is finally available for download from Amazon as of today!!  I have to tell you, rereading it when it came back from the editor gave me chills. I love all my books as if they were my children, but this one ROCKS. I am very proud of it, and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

As a note, if you haven’t already read Heiress of Lies, I’d recommend that before jumping into The Queen’s Betrayal. We pick right up where HoL left off in the second book, and Angeline’s only been queen for an hour at that point.

Here’s the blurb:

Newly crowned Queen Angeline Robart is in a world of trouble. With her father’s passing, enemies are rising from all sides. She needs allies, but doesn’t know who to trust. Connor, the handsome vampire who captured her heart, is caught in the middle when his coven’s death squad descends on the capital city unaware of his change in fealty. Malin, the man she is supposed to marry, is harboring his own secrets and seems to be eyeing a much bigger prize.

Angeline must save the capital city, control her own demon, and unravel the knotted threads of Altera’s bloody history before it’s too late. Somewhere in the past is the answer to her future.

Celebratory Book Launch Goody!!

Heiress of Lies will be FREE on Amazon on September 5th-6th. Grab it while you can and get all caught with with Angeline and Connor’s story.

Happy Reading!

Cover Reveal: The Queen’s Betrayal (Bloodtruth #2)

I am hard at work here at Cege Smith central on The Queen’s Betrayal, which is the sequel to Heiress of Lies. I love the turn of events playing out so far for Angeline and Connor, and I can’t wait to share the story with you!

Just to give you a sneak preview, I wanted you guys to see the new cover. I just got it back from the designer today and I couldn’t be more thrilled. You may notice I was able to use the same model as the Heiress of Lies cover, which I think adds a nice continuity to the series as you see them on the virtual bookshelf.

Now I know the next question is going to be: when will The Queen’s Betrayal be ready? The plan is to launch it in September, but I don’t have a date nailed down yet. As soon as I know, I’ll let you know too. 🙂

Ageless Comes To Life!

This is Day 11 of my 31 Days of August Awesomeness Blog Challenge. Want to know more? Check out the inaugural post here.

It’s been a busy weekend here in the Cege Smith household. I’ve added about 8000 words to my work in progress (The Queen’s Betrayal which is the sequel to Heiress of Lies) which is pretty fantastic. But the thing I’m MOST excited about is that I launched Ageless, my newest paranormal novel.

Here’s the blurb:

On the eve of her eighteenth birthday, Violet Swanson is introduced to a world that she never knew existed. Thoughts of finals and college applications fly out the window when she finds out that the topic of her final term paper, the Fountain of Youth, may actually exist.

Together with her best friend Margo, and the handsome, mysterious Montrose brothers, Violet tries to decipher the clues in her family history to find the Fountain’s location. Jeremiah and Jonah Montrose have their own secrets, and Violet quickly finds herself caught between them. All will be revealed on Violet’s birthday, but her past is reaching out to claim her, putting her entire future at stake.

Pretty cool, huh? Plus I LOVE the cover which is courtesy of Flip City Books. I actually bought the cover back in May without a real inkling of the story- that all came later. What I really like about this story is that I’m exploring the vampire mythology again, but this time I’m doing it in a present day setting (as opposed to the completely different world that Heiress of Lies takes place in). It was a lot of fun to explore, and if people like it, there’s a lot more story to tell about Violet, Margo, and Jeremiah and Jonah Montrose.

So I’ve been a busy bee with launch activities and getting the word about my newest work. I’d love it if you’d consider picking it up. If you enjoy YA paranormal romance, then I think this would be a wonderful, quick read treat for you. 🙂

A Peek Behind the Curtain

As I was wrapping up my month long blog tour for Shadows Deep, I realized something that made me really queasy. I hadn’t written anything but guest blog posts for more than a month.

Now for anyone who has been waiting for the next books in the Twisted Souls or Bloodtruth series, that probably sounds like a harbinger of doom. I have been planning all along to release those books this summer, and this blog tour has, well, put me a little bit behind.

Something else happened along the way as well. I had a whole new set of characters start bending my ear about their story. Ugh- the things that writers go through! So earlier this week, right after I finished the last guest post, I did the only thing I could do.

I dove in with both feet and started to write. On two different novels.

The picture at the top of this post is my writing desk. (I did clean it up for you. :)) On my iPad, I’ve got the running draft for Ageless, which is going to be a new standalone novel about a girl who finds out her obsession with a historical myth is actually her future reality.

On my Mac, I have the running draft for Twisted Souls (Twisted Souls #1). There I am catching up with the four survivors of Soul Implantation 3675, and things are getting creepier and more dangerous for them by the minute.  The notepad on the far right? That’s the outline of the first scene for Angeline’s Quest, which is the sequel to Heiress of Lies and the second installment in the Bloodtruth series.

Yes, I’m that crazy. But once the words start following, it is really hard to stop them so I’m just pounding the keys like crazy and enjoying the ride. The upside of all of this? I expect to have all three novels out by the end of August, and that means… I’m right on schedule. (Hooray!)

My goal is to be able to announce launch dates within the next two weeks. A lot of things depend on my editor’s schedule and I also will be working on the cover art. Thank you to everyone for being patient so far, and I can’t wait to share these adventures with you!
